Do you feel stuck? Bored? Or frustrated? Have you ever looked at your life and wished to have someone else’s life? It’s not that you don’t like the life you live. It’s just you expect more excitement and meaning. We’ve all heard how important it is to “find yourself” from time to time. But when it comes down to making some changes in your life, it’s not about finding yourself. It’s about creating yourself.

When someone tells you to find yourself, it means that the best version of you is already there and that all the hard work necessary to create that version has already been done. All you need to do is search for it. However, it’s far from reality.

We aren’t here to follow the same path. In order to choose our starting point, how long we take, and how fast we travel, the experience is essential. It’s the experiences we decide to make on our own that help us create ourselves.

So what’s it going to take?

  1. Come up with a strategy:

Before we do something, we need a strategy. Try to come up with a strategy to achieve your goals, not if you could.

2. Focus on the present:

Don’t let your mind drift off completely with the possibilities of the future. A wise person once told me to “live completely in the present”

3. Don’t see adversity as a setback:

Start seeing it as a point in your life at which will experience the most radical growth and transformation.

4. Never wish for things to be easier:

Always wish you were better. Don’t aim to be different. Go out of your way to be unique.

5. Evaluate your performance by your character and not your personality:

Personality is who you are to other people. Character is how you are when you are alone.

Our lives aren’t filled with certainty. Rather, it’s filled with possibilities. Those possibilities are always within your reach. Every day contains within it countless opportunities, all dictated by the choices you make.
